The Umpqua is dropping into shape nicely after the Christmas rains. We had fantastic high-water fishing on anchor the last week and a half, most days getting 10+ now that the river has receded it’s back to side drifting and fish are scattered throughout the system. Should be good until the next storm.

The Fall Salmon season is winding down…

Fall Chinook fishing has been good, however it is starting to slow a bit, but the Silvers are starting to fill the bay so there will be lots of action most days. Remember we can keep wild Silvers as of 9/15 and October is a great time to cast for Salmon!

Smallmouth Bass fishing on the Umpqua River Loop is still good and will be as long as the warm weather continues. Chinook Salmon fishing in tidewater has been as good as it gets: we have limited before noon most days but don’t expect that to continue. The Silvers however will be arriving in big numbers soon, so who knows what will happen?
