It’s Memorial weekend and fishing on the Umpqua River Loop has been a lot like the weather…up and down. We are catching very few Spring Chinook. There seem to be plenty in the river, however they seem to have lockjaw this season when they are moving through the Loop.
Smallmouth Bass fishing has been good. They are almost finished spawning and with a little warmer weather it should break wide open.
Shad fishing has been very slow but I anticipate that will change next week!
