Fall Chinook fishing has been good,however it is starting to slow a bit, but the Silvers are starting to fill the bay so there will be lots of action most days. Remember we can keep wild Silvers as of 9/15 and October is a great time to cast for Salmon!







Smallmouth Bass fishing on the Umpqua River Loop is still good and will be as long as the warm weather continues. Chinook Salmon fishing in tidewater has been as good as it gets: we have limited before noon most days but don’t expect that to continue. The Silvers however will be arriving in big numbers soon, so who knows what will happen? The Bass finally went deep and appear to be in a summer pattern despite the cooler than normal temps, so the top water bite is not as consistent as it was for the last month and a half. And Wow! What a ride that month and a half has been! Nothing but fish on top for about 45 days in a row! Everyone is catching more bass than they could imagine with lot’s of good fish in the mix.








Three words to describe Smallmouth Bass fishing lately: Topwater, Topwater and more Topwater!!! High river levels and cool water temps have created perfect conditions to fish on top all day everyday! Hope it lasts.

















This fishing report is basically the same as last week. The Salmon fishing just keeps on going, bass is good and shad fishing is not. We had a couple of days fishing the Umpqua at over 10′ and chocolate in color with a big group and all the guides did well in conditions that most people would not even considered fishing!







Due to high flows, we can report that our Spring Chinook season keeps on going strong (most days) as you can see in this week’s pictures. The higher than average river level is hampering the Shad season for us here on the Umpqua River Loop. Once the river drops we should have a better report on the Shad. The smallmouth bass fishing has been good, but not red hot yet. Last week we were averaging around 30 bass per angler with some good sized fish and a few smaller bass now in the mix.









The Smallmouth are finally spawning this week. It was an awesome pre spawn bass season! We caught hundreds of Smallies in the 3 lb. to 6.2 lb. range. We are now fishing the spawn and catching is little slower away from the beds temporarily. And slower is a relative term on the
